A SPACE ODYSEY>>
AT HERITAGE HOME
This space softly connects modern living with the building’s historic soul. The entryway continues the overall character of the building, carrying its heritage and authenticity through the space. Tall, double doors with decorative crowns repeat along the corridor, emphasizing its proportions and classical rhythm. Marble flooring introduces rhythm and a sense of scale, while modern lighting provides a contemporary counterbalance. Together, these elements create a dialogue between past and present from the very first step inside
A stainless steel kitchen brings clarity and precision, set against textured white brick and classic architectural details. Light moves gently across surfaces, letting materials speak in a quiet, tactile way. The kitchen and entryway flow together as one calm, cohesive zone — designed for slow mornings and everyday rituals.
On the other side of the space, a long table defines the room and gently changes its rhythm. What feels calm and open during the day can easily transform into a setting for long dinners and quiet (or sometimes not) gatherings. The fireplace adds warmth and a sense of continuity, grounding the space in tradition. Together, this side of the room completes the story - a flexible setting shaped for both day and evening.
The need to explore different lighting scenarios came directly from the client, who was curious how various light sources and colors could transform the atmosphere and purpose of the space. Light becomes the main tool shaping the space, letting it respond naturally to different moments.
By day, the conversation pit is filled with natural light, keeping the space open and relaxed. As evening falls, integrated LED lighting above takes over, allowing the atmosphere to shift completely — from soft ambient tones to subtle color accents that reshape the mood.
The conversation pit is designed as a flexible, multi-purpose space. A built-in work desk allows it to shift easily from a place of focus during the day to a more relaxed setting later on. In the evening, it becomes a setting for movie nights or listening to music, with space for vinyl records and a turntable. A single space supporting multiple uses.
Just beyond the conversation pit, doors open into a quiet home office. A wall-mounted LED halo marks the home office entrance, creating different moods for day and night. Light becomes a subtle guide, shaping the transition from shared living to work space.
The home office is defined by a calm, contained atmosphere shaped by its materials. Soft surfaces and muted finishes reduce visual noise, while natural light is complemented by controlled artificial lighting. The LED halo adds an additional layer of illumination, allowing the atmosphere to adjust from day to night.
The hand-painted ceiling adds a soft, atmospheric layer to the bedroom, subtly shifting with the light throughout the day. Dark wood introduces depth and warmth, grounding the space and balancing the lighter surfaces. Together, these elements create a room with a strong presence - expressive, tactile, and quietly distinctive.
The bathroom opens with a warm touch of yellow onyx, setting the tone from the very first step inside. As lighting shifts between clarity and intimacy, the onyx responds subtly, revealing different depths and tones. The space transforms quietly, guided by light and material.
The geometry of the bathroom is precise, minimal, and intentional. Clean planes and sharp edges define the space, allowing light to move quietly across the surfaces. Everything is reduced to its essentials, creating a sense of clarity without coldness.
